MIKEY HARLAND

MIkey and Ken Harland Winton Raceway Victoria Australia

On the banks of Ruapuna Park Raceway in Christchurch, New Zealand, grew my passion and devotion to Motorsport. From a young age, my father and I would head out to the local circuit to watch our local categories compete. It soon became tradition to pick a winner before the race.. My choice was always the car with the design I liked the most! When we would get home, I would draw the cars from the programme handed out from the event. Thats where I discovered my aspiration to become a Designer for Motorsport.

My career began as a Sign Writer/Graphic Designer for the factory backed Lamborghini Squadra Corse, Trofeo Motorsport. As Distributors for Stand 21 race suits and Pirelli Motorsport in Australia, I came on board to learn those aspects of the business aswell. In addition, Trofeo Motorsport aquired the category management of the Australian GT Championship. Expanding my role as a designer to that of a category official at events including the Bathurst 12hr, Bathurst 1000 and more.

KINTSUGI.FM was formed at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, when the Australian lock-downs essentially brought an end to Motorsport in the country. Actively looking for ways to remain creative, I formed a business relationship with the Atlanta based Driver Cooling Company: Chillout Systems. Chillout Systems offered me the opportunity to design a multitude of wraps/liveries for sponsored teams across the United States. This role then expanded into web design, social media management, product design and other aspects of business as their official Art Director.

With the supportive backbone of working for Chillout Systems, I have established a strong foundation of clients competing in various categories across the United States. These include: the NASCAR Youth Series through to IMSA, SRO, Transam and more. My goal for KINTSUGI.FM, is to grow my portolio of Designs and push my creativity as far as I can take it. The journey so far has been surreal! One that has lead me back to doing the very thing that first peaked my interest in Motorsport all those years ago. So thanks Dad, for introducing me to your passion and encouraging my creativity.
